Structure and
governing practices of the Church
We are a congregationally governed body. Our
leadership, according to the Constitution and
By-Laws, place the operational matters of the Church
with the Board and Pastor/Elders, Deacons,
Deaconesses and Trustees along with our full-time
Pastor.
Church Membership
Membership in Zearing Christian Church is very
simple. It is inclusive of those persons who have
accepted Jesus Christ by Faith, believe that Jesus
Christ is their Lord and Savior and have been
baptized.
Ministry
We believe that all Christians are ministers.
According to 1 Corinthians Chapter 12, each person,
young or old, have talents and abilities given by
the Holy Spirit. Through the use of those gifts each
and every member of the Church is a vital part of
the ministry of the Church.
Missions
We believe that the Church should be a serving body
of people. Jesus made it clear in both Matthew
28:19,20 and Acts 1:8 that a local Church is be
involved in ministry which is not only local, but
national and world wide in its scope. This process
includes following the teaching of Matthew Chapter
28:19-20 in our total mission effort. Where we can
not go personally, we believe in supporting those
who are called to various fields of labor in our
nation and world.
Stewardship
We believe and teach the principals of Christian
Stewardship as Jesus said, "For where your treasure
is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21 (NIV).
God expects wise management of our time, talents and
money in both the personal and congregational life
of His Church.
As such, we encourage all believers to share in the
principal of tithing (ten percent) as the basic
starting point in our physical giving. We understand
further that everything we have and are belongs to
the Lord our God.
